TOUT Life’s Moments with New Video Sharing Network
Last night I watched the three hour WWE #RAW1000 television spectacle. That’s right, spectacle. It was spectacular indeed. There were surprise appearances by WWE legends The Undertaker, Brock Lesnar, DX, X-Pac, Lita, and many more.
There was also an appearance by a new social network called TOUT. No relation to Klout. The new video sharing network encourages you to “TOUT Life’s Moments”, and last night’s three hour special also doubled as a welcoming party for this network.
How it works
- Download the TOUT app on your Android or iPhone.
- Record a 15-Second video. TOUT is all about sharing bite-sized moments.
- Share. With one click, broadcast your video to Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, email contacts or a website widget.
- Engage. Monitor what people have to say about your TOUT, or follow other users TOUT’s and start a conversation by liking or commenting.
You can also TOUT from a webcam enabled laptop or desktop.
It appears that there’s only 371 users on TOUT right now. Not a lot, but the TOUT-ers are mostly all WWE Superstars, mega-athletes like Shaq, and pop culture icons like Ryan Seacrest. This app definitely has some potential. I watched in action last night while watching RAW.
During the show, WWE Superstar Zack Ryder tweeted a TOUT backstage from RAW in St. Louis and said, “Hey Broski’s, who do you want to see with me in the ring tonight?!” in attempt to blend online and offline activation.
The biggest opportunity with an app like this is clearly in the entertainment/event space. If used correctly (WWE is doing a great job), it’ll encourage solid cross-platform, multi-screen engagement. The ultimate hook for brands here is the potential for TOUT to extend the reach of its TV presence on the web.
