The social media world has been buzzing with the latest news about Twitter’s redesign for the last few days. While only a few lucky (famous) users like John Legend, Michelle Obama and Zac Effron have had the privilege of experiencing the new design, all newly created Twitter accounts will also flaunt the latest design. The official Twitter blog claims that the new design will be rolled out to all users soon. Since changes on social networking websites can sometimes be intimidating and overwhelming, here is a quick recap of some the changes to keep you prepared.

Profile Photos and Header Photos: Similar to Facebook, the profile photo tab has moved to the left of the page with the header photo taking the form of Facebook’s cover photo. Both the profile photo and header photo have increased in dimensions, giving Twitter a more image focused look.
Best Tweets: This latest addition to Twitter’s homepage will change the way tweets are shown on a page. While previously, all tweets were the same size this new design allows for users’ most engaging and popular tweets to be enlarged and more emphasized.
Followers and Following List: The new Twitter no longer displays followers and following in a list format.The update has taken the form of a card like format similar to Pinterest. This update allows for more information to be seen.
Date Joined: Twitter profiles will also show other users when you joined twitter.
Filtered Tweets: Users can now filter tweets, allowing them to choose what they want to see. For example, they can choose whether to see all, only those with photos/videos, or only tweets & replies
Mutual Followers: Twitter has added a feature that allows users to see which followers they share and know with other users.
